If you are in the market for an easy to use cordless mouse for your laptop look no further than the new Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse.
Anyone that uses a laptop knows that the touchpad, while ingenious, is hardly a good substitute for a standard computer mouse. Almost every laptop computer allows you to plug in a mouse of some kind, but quite often they are bulky and the cord can be a pain as you try to fish it out of your laptop case.
In this day and age where wireless technology is becoming more and more commonplace, wouldn't it be nice to have a notebook sized laser mouse that does not require wires or dongles of any kind? Thanks to bluetooth technology and the new Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks, this dream is now a little easier to grab on to.
As laser mice go the V470 is not incredibly expensive. Coming in at around $50 it is not out of line for the convenience and usefulness that it promises. In truth, in our tests the V470 mouse was incredibly easy to set up and use with the computers we tested it on.
Simply set your computer's Bluetooth receiver to search for new devices, touch a button on the bottom of the Logitech, and seconds later you are mousing around in comfort as long as you stay within range of the Bluetooth connection. As long as your computer has built in Bluetooth capability, you will not need to add anything else to your system. It works great right out of the box or you can install additional software from the included CD to give you additional features such as side to side scrolling and zoom.
The price with the V470 in our tests came in the form of control. Laser mice in general are known for their responsiveness and high degree of precision. While the V470 is every bit as capable of being used for high demand applications, in our testing the cursor seemed to react slightly sluggishly, especially when used on a newer model MacBook. Still, what you are buying with this mouse is convenience and hassle free usage. The unit never failed to be recognized by the host computer, and always worked flawlessly from the very first second after the machine finished booting.
The V470 comes with its own carry pouch and a very solid overall design. It fits nicely into even larger hands, and has a built in battery indicator near the scroll wheel.
The literature claims that it can be used on almost any non-reflective surface and our tests seemed to confirm this. It even works to a very limited degree on a glass desk protector although this is not recommended. In general the Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse proved to be yet another great product from an equally strong and reliable company.
